Happy Independence Day!
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The BPL's eight copies of the Declaration are currently on display in our current exhibition, Declarations: Printing a New Nation.
To commemorate Independence Day, BPL Special Collections will be bringing out additional collection items that are not included in the exhibition for this one-day open house.
First, stop by the Leventhal Map & Education Center to view multiple original printings of the Declaration of Independence that are held in the BPL Rare Books and Manuscripts Department. Then, come by the Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the historic McKim Building to see additional historic objects and talk with staff about the material.
No registration is required to attend either of these events.
