Our commitment to accessibility

We believe that our collections and materials should be accessible to everyone to the maximum extent possible, regardless of individuals' physical capacities and access to or familiarity with technological systems. We take accessibility seriously and strive to ensure that everyone can make use of our digital resources.

Our main website has been audited for accessibility standards. It also features the UserWay accessibility widget: click the blue accessibility icon in the lower right hand corner of any page for options such as text size, contrast, and screen readability.

Accessibility in the library

Our physical spaces are ADA accessible via a lift from the main level of the BPL’s McKim Building. Most, though not all, spaces in the Central Library in Copley Square are accessible. For more information, see the BPL’s Resources and Services for Users with Disabilities.
