We will look closely at areas of urban change around Brighton and the Faneuil Branch, using both Atlascope and historic maps to view the neighborhood from a unique historic perspective.

Patrons will learn how to read and analyze historic fire insurance maps and explore what we can learn from these historic atlases in the age of ever-expanding technologies. This program will also provide an overview of Atlascope, the Leventhal Map & Education Center’s tool for exploring historic urban atlases in metropolitan Boston and across Massachusetts.
