Geospatial and Data Services at the Leventhal Map & Education Center
We provide research and reference services for patrons working with geospatial information, GIS mapping, and other data sets.
Our services include facilitating the acquisition and documentation of geospatial data, and connection with resources related to cleaning, analyzing, visualizing and sharing geospatial data.
We provide a suite of online guides and tutorials related to GIS data and mapping available. Check them out here: LMEC GIS Guides.
We conduct regular mapping workshops and other technical instruction. For more details about upcoming sessions, please visit our events calendar.
Finding and working with data is not always straightforward. There is a lot of information floating around, with varying degrees of usefulness. Some websites even want you to pay for data.
The services available via Geospatial & Data Services at the Leventhal Map & Education Center are free and conducted via one-on-one reference appointments. We will chat with you via phone, email, or in person at the Central Copley Square branch of the Boston Public Library.
