Our “Evening with the Artist” events invite you to look, listen and create. Look closely at art and map pairings in the “Crossing Boundaries: Art // Maps” exhibition at the Leventhal Map & Education Center. Listen to an artist talk. Create something inspired by the artist’s work and process.
Our third evening features mosaic artist Richard Youngstrom. Youngstrom uses a mosaic technique called picassiette, from a French phrase meaning “stolen from a plate,” in which shards of ceramic objects (tesserae) are repurposed to form images. You can find Youngstrom’s work in art galleries, on dinner tables, and gracing garden walls.
Participation for this event is limited to 16 people.
