Information about Map Center services during the covid-19 pandemic

This information last updated at 3:00 pm on March 27.

In response to public health concerns associated with the covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, the Leventhal Map & Education Center is closed to the public until further notice. All branches of the Boston Public Library are also closed; see the BPL’s information page here. Resources for public health are available from the BPL and City of Boston.

As an alternative to visiting in person, we encourage patrons to visit our digital exhibition of America Transformed online. Reference and research is available by email using this form.

Due to Governor Baker ordering nonessential businesses to close, our vendor who makes our reproductions is closed. We are suspending our service of map reproductions and will announce on our e-newsletter when start this up again, so please sign up here to receive updates.

All activities, including talks, tours, and classes, are cancelled through the end of May. We will post information about the dates for events we are able to reschedule after our reopening.
