Information about Map Center services during the covid-19 pandemic

This information last updated on August 14.

In response to public health concerns associated with the covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, the physical spaces of the Leventhal Map & Education Center is closed to the public until further notice. All branches of the Boston Public Library are also closed for regular access; see the BPL’s information page here. The Central Library and selected branch libraries offer limited service for holds pickup. Resources for public health are available from the BPL and City of Boston.

As an alternative to visiting in person, we encourage patrons to visit our digital exhibition of America Transformed online. Reference and research is available by email using this form.

Map reproductions can be ordered through our digital collections site.

All in-person activities, including talks, tours, and classes, are cancelled indefinitely. However, we have moved many of our programming activities online. Visit the events calendar to see events which are being offered in an online format.
