Shows title at lower left with "Scale for the Plan and Sections 30 feet to an inch".
Shows two inset sectional drawings of the fort beneath the map. "Section No 1" has a lettered key (A-C) showing the "Ravelin before the Gate unfinished", an "elevation of the Cazerns" and the "Chappel". "Section No 2" shows a profile through the fort walls including the well and the "Look out Tower towards the Sea".
Compare MPG 1/287 at The National Archives - 1 item (enclosure to Sir Jeffery Amherst's of 19 October 1763) extracted from CO 5/63 (f 791). Florida. 'Plan of the Fort St. Augustine' with two sections. Reference table to sections. Scale: 1 inch to 30 feet. 'By Phillip Pittman [Ensign] 15th Regiment'.
Copy at Add Ms 57,704.9. Bound in R.U.S.I. Vol LXIX (bound between maps of Quebec, although this map shows Saint Augustine in Florida). Red stamp of R.U.S.I. at lower left. Shows manuscript addition of "9" in pencil at upper right. Shows manuscript addition of "A 30/22" in pencil at lower left. Shows manuscript addition of "C 21" in pencil at lower right. Laid on archival tissue. Green circular label to verso shows "1". White label to verso showing "DRAWER 30 SECTION 1". Evidence of old folds. Upper part of map (on 2 sheets) torn and (later?) reinstated - paper on which map is drawn is toned differently.
